Diet drinks are a staple beverage for weight-conscious people around the world. However, the lack of calories and sugar may have a drastic effect on a person’s Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) – the measure of intoxication that defines being legally drunk. According to Time Magazine, diet drinks are digested differently than non-diet drinks, creating a higher BAC in those that drink, and furthermore compromising the ability to determine a higher BAC by the person drinking.
