The laws regarding distracted and drunk driving are constantly being reviewed and revised. While alcohol-related fatalities are declining to an extent, a more dangerous problem has emerged that is costing lives. The use of smartphones while driving, specifically texting, is leading to serious consequences. Unfortunately, many people are not only drinking and driving or texting and driving, but also combining the two into a serious problem.

Searching through Twitter can be an enlightening adventure when it comes to the dangers of texting, drinking and driving. There are DUI/DWI jokes, concerns over friends who may need a ride home, and perhaps most horrifying, tweets from people who are currently drinking and driving. What these people may not understand is that poor judgment may lead them directly to jail, as law enforcement officers are finding ways to track down people who broadcast their activities over social networks.
