IllinoisDriving drunk can be a habitual crime, with each offense not only triggering stricter consequences after each conviction, but, the scary understanding that for each time a person is convicted of driving drunk, he or she has likely driven drunk without being arrested. According to altondailynews.com, a proposed law in Illinois for DUI offenders that have spent time in jail for four convictions is causing debate. This law would allow those who have served their time for the DUI convictions to install an ignition interlock device on all vehicles, however, many are concerned that the drunk driving habit at that rate of convictions may never be “cured,” even with an IID installed.
