Florida Ignition Interlock Law Concerns

CBS 12.com reports that MADD recently sent Will Weatherford, Speaker of the Florida House a letter asking him to strengthen Florida ignition interlock laws, particularly seeking stricter penalties for first-time DUI offenders in the state. Currently, Florida ignition interlock law only requires the mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device for first-time offenders with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .15, but at the prompting of MADD, this could potentially be lowered to the national BAC limit of .08.
