According to New Haven Register, M.A.D.D. will be fighting for stricter ignition interlock laws in Connecticut in 2014, citing the current laws in the state allow for a DUI offender to have his or her record expunged after completing a substance abuse treatment program. While these programs are effective, the mandatory installation of an ignition interlock for first-time offenders may offer more solutions for safety.
