Saskatchewan has the highest rates of  drunk driving-related deaths in Canada, drawing attention to the need for life-saving changes. CBC News in Saskatchewan reports that there were 8.44 drunk driving related deaths per 100,000, compared to a much lower rate of 2.03 in Ontario. Andrew Murie, head of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) in Canada has said that the time to curb these fatalities is now, noting that current law enforcement practices are not sufficient, despite efforts cited by Highways Minister Don McMorris.
