The typical profile of a person charged with DUI points to men as the biggest violators of drunk driving laws. However, the statistics on drinking and driving, particularly when it comes to women, seem to be changing. According to The Chicago Tribune, a recent report shows that the number of men facing DUI charges has been dropping, while many courts are seeing more and more women appearing on the same charges. While the reason for these numbers is not clear, the pressures facing women and their visibility in the workplace and on the roads may be a contributing factor to the rise in DUI charges.
