Drinking and driving is a serious offense that can have deadly consequences. Many times, however, those accused of driving under the influence are found not guilty, or charges are dismissed, based on the idea of “reasonable doubt” when it comes to the legal measure of alcohol in the bloodstream. CTV News reports that an Ontario man was recently charged with drinking and driving, but, when it came time to defend his “not guilty” plea, the judge dismissed the charge over the man’s claim that acid reflux caused the higher blood alcohol concentration reading.
